Deconstructing TMNT: Back to the Sewers
I'm starting in on episode III, because I honestly can't bring myself to watch the previous ones again.
So, without futher ado:
First off, it should be said that said that aside from the Dude Mikey they've got going on here the voice talent is awesome.
The characterization? Also awesome.
The fact that Splinter has rat feet? Continuing with the awesome.
The new art for the turtles hasn't grown on me yet. It's the type of cartoony that I prefer, it's just...odd to see them have to blink and I'm not sure it's always working out in the right ways. And....just this second it reminded me of the Loony Toons Reboot they wanted to do.
Commence the feeling dirty.
In this episode we learn that Splinter has been scattered all over the internet. If he doesn't come back as a Freakazoid, I'm going to be terribly disappointed.
The theme song? Still sucks. I...I can't help but get contact embarrassment from theme songs.
Okay, so their new lair is under Central Park? Okay...
I already hate the robot butler.
Oh characterizations, you make me happy.
TRON! TURTLES HAVE TRON BIKES!
Splinter's Bits should never ever be mentioned. Even in exposition. Hell...especially exposition.
OH NOES! CYBER SHREDDER! HIS REVENGE IS A DISH BEST SERVED WITH PINTO BEANS AND MUFFINS!
Ugh...I really really don't like Shredder being an Utrom. And the idea of him having downloaded his brain into the interweb? Also kind of dumb, but certainly better than him having been reborn thanks to worms.
Okay...all bitching aside, this is really kind of cool. And then there was cybernaut armor. Damn it, I typed too soon.
THEY'RE NINJAS, THEY DON'T NEED SPECIAL WEAPONS. THEY ARE SPECIAL WEAPONS. Yeah yeah yeah, can't sell new toys of the same ol' same ol', and at least these are better than the random music ones.
Oooh commercial for the Batman Lego game. HEE so cute.

I...try to imagine Milli-Raph stuck in this world. It makes me chuckle.

Fighting inna matrix. Still fighting. Oh noes! Mikey! Ooh perceived danger, how you toy.
Hooray, you've saved Splinter's rat toes! Yay mission for the season! Finish you dad's status bar!
