agoodmusekickinI'm on my second glass of wine in hopes that the booze'll make me drowsy.
Why? Because my day starts at 4:30 tomorrow morning. That's when Momma Bing, Rocker Bing, and I head to the airport for our single day in DC excursion.
Yup, you read that right: a single day in DC.
At the moment our itinerary looks something like this:
- 7:30 am Flight from Boston to DC
- 9ish arrive at DC
- Metro to the National Archive where I will fight tooth and nail to NOT make National Treasure jokes. Though...I can't promise there won't be bad Nicholas Cage impressions galore
- From there we're thinking of hitting up the Museum of American History. In particular the Pop Culture wing. I'm personally looking forward to any/all Muppet things. Also the 1st printing of TMNT #1.
- 3 will find us at Arlington where we'll be attending the funeral of a friend of Rocker's who recently passed. The funeral was what inspired the trip to begin with.
- There'll be dinner somewhere and then back to the airport for 8ish, and our flight back to Boston.
Thus far I have our boarding passes for the first leg of the trip, and I think I've packed my satchel with necessities. What I haven't figured out yet is what I'm wearing.
What is the appropriate outfit for a day of tourism and mourning?
I'm sure I'll figure something out.
In the meantime I have to fix the buttons on my long wool coat. To not do so will mean spending the afternoon with Momma Bing fussing over me.
Expect much in the way of tweets and possibly nerdtastic pictures.

Date: 2012-01-18 04:56 am (UTC)I wonder if I have an appropriate hat for the occasion. (The one I currently wear is decorated to look like a sock monkey. Both Rocker and I decided that maaaaaybe that wasn't in keeping with tradition.)
